DJ Chamberlain is a notoriously camera-shy gaijin who lives in Sapporo, Japan. Fiercely independent, he works as a freelance ESL teacher, copy editor, and magazine writer. He is also an ardent amateur cook, but his true love is, and always has been, books.
Born in Adelaide, Australia, DJ spent most of his formative years buried in books that talked about more exciting places – deserted isles, African plains and jungles, Hyperborea, Egypt, Mordor, Medieval Europe. After going to Japan in his early twenties, he found genre books hard to come by and was forced to read and re-read the same books over and over again. This eventually drove him to try writing his own. It took him twenty years, but eventually his first book was published in 2014 and he hasn't looked back since.
